New Year

Ring it in -- with no more margarine, shortening, or skim milk in our house. Going out cold turkey. And with no more ado, what we'll be eating this week Chez Goodwin should you choose to drop in.

Pottage
Rice and lentil stew with bits of lamb, topped with a fresh garden salad, lentil sprouts, and vinaigrette.

Shepherd's Pie
Pastured pork sausage, real mashed potatoes, tomato and green been sauce, served with a side of steamed broccoli.

Sesame Noodles
Angel hair with Thai peanut-sesame sauce, shredded carrots and cucumber.

Potato Wedges
Russet and sweet potato wedges, seasoned and oven-baked till golden and crispy. Side of sauteed baby portobello mushrooms.

Pizza Night
Hand-tossed crust, melted mixed cheeses, all the good stuff. Served with mixed vegetables.

BBQ Chicken, Fennel-Orange Salad
Tender chicken and smoky sauce over half-brown rice, accompanied by a salad of sliced fennel, multi-colored orange segments, and mint accents.

Sourdough Pancakes and Waffles
Cooked in just a little bacon grease and on the table hot, with strips of bacon, applesauce and syrup.
