Oatmeal with nuts and dried apricots ≈≈ Split-pea-and-potato soup (with a real ham bone, which only happens a time or two every year)
Cream of Wheat, cottage cheese and fruit ≈≈ Asian chicken salad
Rice with cinnamon, sugar, and cream ≈≈ Harira (Moroccan stew)
Strawberry muesli ≈≈ Baked potato bar
*Pancake-in-the-oven ≈≈ Grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup ≈≈ Garlic shrimp and grits, green beans
Pumpkin muffins ≈≈ Pizza, salad
Cereal ≈≈ Pancakes, waffled eggs

*My 9-year-old, Lucy, wants to plan and prepare and entire day's worth of meals, and this is it. The kids have Friday off school and long-awaited out-of-town visitors are arriving early that morning, so she's excited to try her hand in the kitchen.
