Noshables

I'm never going to be a fancy-sugar-cookies mama, but we did put together some goodies last week.

Gingerbread twigs, our annual spritz cookies (a longstanding tradition of S.'s family), some 'Chinese' walnuts from my family's old recipe, and orange-cardamom sweet rolls on Santa Lucia Day.

Then, Lucy was pestering and pestering for us to make a gingerbread house, so I rolled some dough and cut out the extra into stars and men for the kids to decorate. Ian also wanted a batch of cookies of his own to give to friends, so he made these little brown sugar shortbreads, which we stamped with the end of a thread spool.

I'm sure most of the country will be making cookies of some kind in the coming week, so merry baking to you all!
