Frijoles, homemade.  We've got lots of bulk dry pinto beans in our food storage and so I've started to learn how to make refried beans from scratch -- yesterday I had at least 2 pounds of beans in a pot with all sorts of fresh onions and tomatoes and seasonings.  (I have an old international cookbook that I was using.)  We ate them just on a plate with some cheese on top and canned corn alongside, and it was marvelous.  Definitely more work than opening a can, I followed all the nuanced steps of the recipe, but hands-down yummier and cheaper as well.  We ate at least half and I still had almost two quarts left to freeze for future burritos, not to mention that it probably cost me less than 3 bucks total.
