Roasting a whole chicken with my 7-yr-old = fun. She picked the spices mostly by herself, rubbed them under the skin, put it in the oven, and basted it. She also made instant mashed potatoes, and I added some more of those frozen green beans that seem to be the only vegetable we have on hand lately. We actually used a meat thermometer for once, and the chicken was delightfully tender and juicy. Yum for kids helping put on Sunday dinner!
