Last night was one of those nights when I wonder, as I'm completely tired/fried from the day and it's already approaching dinner time, if it's worth going ahead with my menu plan.  Ramen is very tempting at those moments.  But, our dinner of green beans steamed/sauteed in bacon grease, breaded flounder fillets, and curried potatoes was SO worth it, even a half hour late.  Maybe especially a half hour late, since hunger added that special sauce.  And I had helpers in the kitchen -- ones that actually helped -- so it felt like a family affair.  Add to that the fact that the green beans were from the reduced-produce bin at an incredible price, and it was one of those good, simple, old-fashioned-feeling meals.
